FC Porto overturned a half-time deficit to win 2-1 at SC Braga on Saturday, a result that reflected the visitors' superior efficiency in front of goal and their ability to generate the better chances despite having far less of the ball. The Lemeister model had forecast a tightly-contested match, giving Porto a 35% win probability and Braga 34%, a projection that in the end slightly undersold the visitors' clinical edge.
The opening hour was a study in possession without incision for the hosts. Braga commanded 62% of the ball and completed 428 passes at an 87% accuracy rate, but they managed only six total shots and, crucially, just one shot on target across the 90 minutes.
